Payment and refunds
Short, with no fine print — advertising also needs this: a person should understand what they pay for and what happens if they change their mind.
How payment works
- After the request I confirm the plan by email.
- You transfer a 50% prepayment.
- Work starts only after the money and the materials arrive.
- The remainder is due before the site is put on your domain.
When I return the prepayment
If I have not started the design (fewer than 2 working days have passed since payment and there are no agreed sketches) I return 100% of the prepayment within 7 working days.
If a sketch has already been shown but markup has not started, I return 50% of the prepayment. The other half covers work already done.
After markup has started the prepayment is not returned: hours have been spent that cannot be put back on a shelf.
When I do not take the remainder
If I cannot finish the project in the agreed time through my own fault, the client may cancel, receive the materials as they stand and not pay the remainder. In that case the prepayment is not kept beyond the work actually done.
A digital service
A website is individual work, not a serial product from a shelf. The “14 days without a reason” right that covers many web shops does not apply to design that has already started. Before work starts you may always cancel — see the paragraph on a 100% refund.
How a refund is sent
By the same channel the payment arrived, if the bank allows it. Credit time depends on the bank, usually 3–7 working days after I send the transfer.
